Dear Friends,
Chennai happens to be the native city of our founder director Abraham Sekhar. The first children’s home and prayer house were constructed in Polichaloor, Chennai. His relatives too live here. Recent havoc of rain and floods have hit the city very badly causing loss of millions of dollars. Many have lost their homes, provisions, clothing and their appliances. Bro Keith knows well that our first church of the Harvest Mission was founded and built in Polichaloor Chennai. We built two rooms for orphanage in the ground floor and a guest room in first floor. Our orphan children have grown and except two of them all others have their own jobs.
Our pastor Jesudoss with wife Priscilla and two children are staying in the ground floor adjoined home of theirs. Recent rain and flood caused 7 feet of water flooding inside this area and the church, pastor’s residence and two rooms of the orphanage are under 7 feet water. They all had to vacate and move to the first floor of the guest house. No food for the past four days, no electricity, no milk and we could not get in touch with them. In addition our elder Esau with his family has opened the first floor of our other elder Jacob’s house(he had gone with his family for a marriage function for the past 7 days)and staying.
Abraham is trying to compensate whatever could be possible. Those who desire to help, donate thru www.globalmercyfoundation.com. There will be great need for prayer counseling to those affected.
In addition to the loss of household materials they need immediate help for their food etc. Our families of the church congregation too have gone thru similar damages. I could not take the photos of their condition since we cannot approach them. Electricity got connected today and no phone connections. Whatever the Lord may impress in your hearts, please extend your helps to our suffering families. Sheila will be visiting them soon next week. She is stranded in Bangalore
